This exhibition is a visual aspect of grief as a language.
It’s about the love and unbreakable connection which remains when someone you love dies. You’ll become an expert in a diverse and yet personal language that can’t be taught.
With Elegy of Buried Hearts you are dared to step closer to your own pain and strip away everything but facts and feelings. You are left with dirt beneath your feet and pure love; Which will hurt you and define you for the rest of your life.
The artworks in the exhibition shows the different stages of being buried in the ground. How nature works its way through, decomposing the human shape and turning it into soil, all the while love for that person doesn’t waver. The shapes of the works are inspired by funeral wreaths and urns a long side hearts which each represent residents of the cemetery.
